Co. introduces two new products to complement our line of
architectural sealants. Lucas #6600
Universal™ Sealant and #5600 Gutter Seal are primarily intended for
use in residential roofing and re-roofing applications.
Lucas #6600 Universal™ Sealant is a
high-performance, multipurpose thermoplastic elastomer based sealant.
Excellent adhesion to most surfaces including: metal, Kynar®, asphalt,
shingles, modified bitumen, EPDM, TPO, Elvaloy/PVC, Hypalon, vinyl,
fiber cement, wood, concrete, tile, masonry, glass. #6600 is available
in clear, black, white and various colors (see Data Sheet). It is also
available in three grades: Standard caulking grade, Self-Leveling Grade
(#6600SL) and Winter Grade (#6600W). Use to seal gutters, flashings and
penetrations on all types of roofs. Ideal for residential roofing
applications where appearance is important.
Lucas #5600 Gutter Seal is a multipurpose,
nitrile elastomer based self-leveling sealant. Specifically designed as
a narrow seam sealant for gutter lap joints. Low modulus and high
elongation accommodate severe movement. Excellent adhesion to metal
gutters including copper and Kynar®.
Contains SI-2 surface active agent allowing adhesion to wet and
underwater surfaces. For an non-sag or colored sealant please refer to
Lucas #6600 Universal™ Terpolymer Sealant. Standard color is Aluminum.

Lucas #6900 Universal™ Clear Sealant is a
high-performance, multipurpose thermoplastic elastomer based sealant.
Excellent adhesion to most roof surfaces including: metal, Kynar®,
asphalt, shingles, modified bitumen, EPDM, TPO, Elvaloy/PVC, Hypalon,
vinyl, fiber cement, wood, concrete, tile, masonry, glass. #6900 is
clear and will not stain when applied over asphalt products, including
shingles, when applied at the recommended rate of application. Use to
seal gutters, flashings and penetrations on all types of roofs. Ideal
for residential roofing applications where appearance is important.
Lucas #550 EZ-Seal™
is a fast and effective product for temporarily stopping leaks in all
types of low-slope roofs. Manufactured from gel forming bentonite clay,
#550 forms a watertight barrier when exposed to water. Ideal for
stopping leaks during rainstorms, in ponding areas or in winter when
there is snow on the roof. Formed into free-flowing mico-pellets, Lucas
#550 pours easily from the spout on its waterproof plastic container.
The small pellet size exposes a greater surface area resulting in a
faster gel and water stopping seal.

When installed in white, #6000 will reduce the roof’s surface
temperature which reduces stress from daily heat cycles.
It will also reduce the heat gain in the building’s interior,
any associated air-conditioning costs and increase the efficiency of
roof mounted air-conditioning condensers.

Flashing Cement is a new all purpose repair mastic for repairing all
types of roofs in all weather conditions. Suitable for application
to wet and underwater surfaces. Available in standard white and
black.

Chicago's Revised Energy Conservation Code becomes effective April
22, 2009. Among other requirements, all low slope roof
installations must now meet certain roof reflectivity requirements.

has been approved by NSF International for use in water catchment and drinking water systems. Already required in much
of the Caribbean, capture and re-use of rainwater is increasing in
importance as interest in water conservation grows. This
certification guarantees that no harmful substances will contaminate
water collected from roof surfaces.

Based on non-toxic, biodegradable, non-flammable plant derived
esters. Safe for use on vinyl siding, hands and
clothing. Easy removal of asphalt marks on vinyl siding and
factory finished aluminum trim during tear-offs and re-roofing.
Eliminates fire and health hazards associated with petroleum solvent
cleaning and parts washing operations. Will not stain or remove
vinyl siding gloss finishes like some citrus cleaners. May alter the
appearance of siding with a chalky or porous surface. Near
odorless.

available in convenient aerosol packaging. #5015 promotes
adhesion to difficult surfaces, aids in cold weather application and
may be used as a "spray and wipe" cleaner for dirty
surfaces. #5015 is compatible with all seam tapes and
self-adhered underlayments including butyl, "Microsealant"
and modified asphalt.

Lucas
#1100HG Super High Gloss Roof Coating. This is a water
based acrylic coating that's intended for highly visible
applications. High pigment content, superior gloss and
incredible dirt pick up resistance allow this product to remain much
cleaner and brighter white throughout its service life.

#5900 Clear Brushable Sealer is a solvent based
elastomeric sealant for skylights, gutters and other architectural
metal details.

The City of Chicago has recently passed an
amendment to the City’s Energy Code which sets a minimum
reflectivity standard for roofs up to a slope of 2” in 12” at
0.25 until 12-31-2008. Beginning in 2009 all low slope roofs will be
required to meet the EPA’s Energy
Star® standard.
That standard requires 0.65 initial reflectivity and 0.50
reflectivity maintained for a minimum of 3 years.
