ELASTOMERIC COATINGS & CEMENTS

     Lucas elastomeric roof coatings and cements represent a new generation of protective coatings for the repair, restoration and protection of low slope and metal roofs.  Lucas water based elastomeric coatings and cements are based on elastic, rubber-like Acrylic and Polyurethane emulsion polymers.  These materials also provide the ability to pigment coatings in a variety of colors including a cool reflective white. Reflective white cool roof coatings reflect heat away from buildings which results in reduced cooling costs.

Water based products are low odor, more temperature stable, are easy to spray and may be applied to damp surfaces.  Disadvantages when compared to Lucas solvent-based elastomeric coatings include lesser resistance to ponding water and the requirement that storage and application temperatures be above 40 °F.

The existing un-coated modified bitumen roof has aged prematurely and appears brown from the oils that have 'cooked out' of the membrane.  After a coating of Lucas Elastomeric Roof Coating the same roof is sealed and protected with a cool white finish that will reflect heat away from the roof and prolong the roof's service life.

Lucas Elastomeric Roof Coating  is applied to an existing APP modified bitumen roof.  The applicator pictured on the left is spreading the coating evenly with a notched squeegee while the applicator on the right back-rolls the coating to provide a smooth, uniform finish.  Note that on older asphalt and modified bitumen roofs there may be some exudate 'bleed through' when the first coat is applied.  The second coat will be bright white as shown.

Lucas #1000TC  Elastomeric Roof Coating is a 100% acrylic surface coating designed for application over an initial coating of Lucas #1000M, #1000MB or #1000SP.  #1000TC (Top Coating) is designed to provide a durable, reflective bright white finish that exhibits a high degree of solar reflectivity.  #1000TC is also available in colors.

Lucas #1000M Elastomeric Base Coating is a 100% acrylic base coating intended for the repair and restoration of metal roofs and buildings. #1000M is manufactured with corrosion inhibiting pigments. 

Lucas #1000MB Elastomeric Base Coating is a 100% acrylic base coating designed specifically for coating APP & SBS modified bitumen and BUR roofs. #1000 MB exhibits improved adhesion and bleed resistance.

Lucas #1000SP Elastomeric Base Coating is a 100% acrylic base coating designed to protect and restore single ply roof such as EPDM and spray poly-urethane foam.  Increased elongation allows this coating to accommodate the higher elasticity of these systems.

Lucas #1015 Acrylic Resin Poly-Saturant is a pure, un-filled Acrylic resin used to adhere and saturate polyester fabric membranes prior to coating with Lucas Elastomeric Roof Coatings.

Lucas #1071 Acrylic Roof Cement is a trowel applied cement used to repair roofs and seal fasteners prior to coating with #1000 series acrylic coatings.  #1071 is also an excellent all-purpose caulk and sealant.

Lucas #1100 Fluoropolymer Finish Coating is a water based fluropolymer coating that's intended for highly visible applications.  High pigment content, superior gloss and incredible dirt pick up resistance allow this product to remain much cleaner and brighter white throughout its service life.

Lucas #1900 Water-Based Clear Sealant is a water-based 100% acrylic sealant for skylights and translucent window panels.  Use in place of #5900 where asphalt sealants have been used previously or a low odor product is desired.
